All great project requires a team- the most important part of that team is obviously the project owner!

The other key to a great project is your sub-contractors, and I was blessed to have the very best work with me for decades. To the firms and people I’ve listed below, please accept my heartfelt thanks and gratitude:

There are clearly others, including the manufactures and their Reps, like Tom Shoendienst of Pentair and Steve Guta of Zodiac- both were very helpful in ensuring our mechanical solutions were going to be effective.

Many of the projects in my 2000-2020 profiles are from my Canadian friends – my work permit host Gene Brown of Valley Pools in Kelowna, B.C , Roger Jay – Island Watershares of Vancouver, and Andrew Kondi in Calgary. Also, my friends at Riviera Pools of Germany and Piscine Oggi in Italy were influential. We apparently were early pioneers on some of the details that are so popular today- Floating Step Stones, Early 90’s, as well as fire bowls. Bob Roman of Fire by Design was able to get certification for ignition in the pool itself, and I explored pyramid details starting in the 80’s. Obviously there are times that just when you think you have thought of something new, like floating coping or 90° edge details, I find a book called “Hollywood Poolside” and both details were displayed from the 1920’s! All of those experiences over the years as well as the lack of education in the pool industry, prompted the Co – Founding of Genesis, the benchmark of Pool/Spa education globally. The students and instructors that have participated in the Genesis System have fundamentally changed an entire industry!
